Technical Knowledge: An Introduction

This course is aimed at those responsible for operating, installing and maintaining broadcast equipment. It gives a broad knowledge of modern video, audio and digital systems and how they are used to make quality programs.
We help attendees understand the theory, practice and terminology used to run a production facility; how processes fit together and how quality is maintained. The course provides a foundation on which to build professional skills, enabling those attending to cope with more advanced or specialist courses and effectively communicate with colleagues in the wider TV industry.
Who should attend?
The course is entry-level, so no previous experience is necessary. However, the course will also provide a good basis for updating experienced operators and technicians, who have not had formal training and therefore may have gaps in their knowledge or never had the chance to join up all their acquired knowledge to create the ‘bigger picture’.
